A maths tutor that talks it through with your child.
We're building a voice-first tutor for Australian students in Years 7 and 8: a patient one-to-one teacher that listens, asks questions and works through problems on a shared whiteboard.
What we're building
- Real conversation. Students talk with their tutor, interrupt with questions and explain their thinking out loud, as they would with a person.
- Guides rather than tells. The tutor gives the next small step so the student reaches the answer, and every calculation is checked before it counts.
- Australian curriculum. Year 7–8 Mathematics, starting with Number and Algebra.
- Progress parents can see. What their child showed they can do on their own, and what the next lesson will work on.
In development
Where we are
The tutor is in development. A small supervised pilot with families is planned for early 2027. It's designed as a daily learning companion that works alongside school and teachers, not a replacement for them.
Children's safety and privacy shape the design from the start: a parent's consent comes first, voice recordings aren't kept, and every session follows a child-safety protocol.
Who we are
ASL Tech Pty Ltd is a Sydney company founded by Shanthkumar Bugudi, a software engineer with 18 years' experience building and testing large software systems, now focused on AI.
